How to Apply

Visit

To apply for undergraduate or graduate program, international students need to have passing English score if they graduated from non-English speaking high school. For English score standard, please refer to Undergraduate admission requirements or Graduate admission requirements

Application Deadlines

Spring quarter :

For international students who wish to come to America to study onsite program, they need to complete application form from now till February 15

Online students and onsite students who are applying for next program should finish application by February 20.

Summer quarter :

International students application deadline:May 15

Online students & onsite ESL students application deadline: May 20.

Fall quarter :

International students application deadline: August 15.

Online students & onsite ESL students application deadline: August 20.

Winter quarter:

International students application deadline: November 11.

Online students & onsite ESL students application deadline: November 20.

Admission Steps for International Students

  • 1. Complete the application form, Submit CFR & bank statement

    Complete the online application form with application fee $75, and submit CFR & bank statement before the deadline. (Spring : February 15 / Summer : May 15 / Fall : August 15). The bank statement should be dated within 6 months.

  • 2. Check your email for acceptance letter, Pay I-20 processing fee

    If you are accepted to the program, you will receive acceptance letter via email. After receiving the notice, make the payment for I-20 processing fee $80 here.

  • 3. I-20 delivery

    After these steps, I-20 will be sent to you via DHL mail. You can get tracking number for the delivery.

  • 4. Make visa interview appointment

    After receiving I-20 via mail, set up visa interview appointment at your local US embassy as soon as you can. It is recommended to have visa interview as early as possible. A valid passport is also needed to make an appointment.

  • 6. Book the flight ticket

    After you get student visa, book the flight ticket. Select flight ticket for San Diego airport or Palm Springs airport, because airport pickup is available for these airports only. If you arrive at LA airport, you need to find a transportation to campus yourself. To report your flight schedule or arrange pickup schedule, contact our transportation team Also, please report your flight schedule to student affairs student.student.info@olivetuniversity.edu

    Your flight arrival date should be earlier than the first day of class of the quarter.

  • 7. Arrive on campus

    You should arrive on campus before the orientation date or the first day of class, whichever is earlier. Please refer to academic calendar for the dates. You should not arrive later than the first day of class of the quarter.

  • 8. Pay fees and deposit to student finance team
      Dormitory Application Fee** $100
      Dormitory Deposit $200
      Transportation fee (Airport pick up) $30/40$/$50/$120(up to the airport you arrive)


    About technology fee and international student fee: Student Finance Office has decided to waive Technology Fee and International Student Fee for all students from Fall Quarter 2017. But please be noted that the waiver is subjected to change later. You are possible to be charged these two kinds of fees in 2018 winter or in any following quarters.

    These fees are not covered by financial aid and scholarship and all international students should pay. *Enrollment deposit needs to be paid when you begin a program and it is used towards your tuition. It is non-refundable. *Each student who wishes to stay in the dormitory should pay the dormitory application fee and dormitory deposit upon arrival.


  • 9. Submit your original documents

    Submit your original transcripts (English version), original certificate of degree (English version, if available), original certificate of graduation (English version, if available), signed enrollment agreement, CFR, and bank statement to registrar office.

    And you need to submit your health exam result and immunization record to student affairs.

  • 10. Get student account access through email and register for courses.

    After you finish these steps, you will receive student account access through email, and you will be able to register for courses. You need to register for courses within the registration period. Please check the academic calendar for the dates.

Applying for Financial Aid & Scholarship

To apply for financial aid or scholarship, please write an email to finaid@olivetuniversity.edu

You need to fill out the form and also submit the recommendation letters. For more information, contact student finance office studentfinance@olivetuniversity.edu.

Please fill out this form when you submit the admission application form. If you are approved to receive scholarship, you need to submit scholarship letter that you received from the student finance office together with CFR and bank statement as financial document.
