MBA Students Prepare Creative Business Plans

November 25, 2015

Students who will be graduating from Olivet Business School this quarter have been asked to summarize what they learned in the two-year graduate program through the course CA800 Capstone Project.

The Capstone Project is designed to help students draw out the skills and knowledge they gained from the entirety of their MBA program. The soon-to-be graduates are expected to apply what they’ve learned by submitting a business plan, proposal (for a project, process, program, etc.), or any other similar work approved by the school; this includes strategic efforts for a specific company or a project to launch a new business venture. Students are also required to present their defense.

Julia Wei, an MBA student, is making a business plan for a Bible-based primary school in China. The private school would welcome all children, whether or not they are from Christian families, and offer bilingual education. Wei believes her passion for children’s education is God-given. She hopes her plan will come to fruition and that she can ultimately help many children in China grow in a loving environment.

OBS is looking forward to the final presentations and hopes the Capstone Project will not only help the students showcase their newly acquired skills and knowledge but also serve as a catalyst for future ministry work.
