JCM Student Ruth Qiu Presents Graduation Music Concert

Master of Arts student Ruth Yanjun Qiu from the Jubliee College of Music (JCM) presented her graduation concert at Olivet University Riverside's Chapel. The Master of Arts program at JCM requires all graduate students to lead a concert at the end of their 2-year study.

Qiu planned the whole one hour concert by coordinating musical selections, planning song form, and leading the rehearsals.

The concert showcased several performances including band songs, solo performances, testimony, chorus, dance, and videos. The concert started with the song, "This Is Amazing Grace" which signified the theme of the concert. The concert was a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.

One of the videos played during the concert showed the campus life of Qiu that included her academic as well as spiritual life during her period of study at Olivet University Riverside.

"I have experienced huge personal growth during my stay on this campus. God broke my spiritual chains as I lived here. With regards to music, I was able to learn piano accompaniment, singing, and Christian worship here," shared Qiu.

"The concert was led by the Holy Spirit. I am very thankful for JCM and all others who helped me put things together," Qiu added.

The concert received a positive response overall from the audience.
