About Olivet University New York

New York was the “New World” for the heroes of the Christian Reformation. As a Christian institution in the Reformed Presbyterian tradition, we have taken to heart that revolutionary spirit and established Olivet University in New York following our mission: “To revolutionize the world through education for ministry.”

Our Distinction

Olivet University New York is an extension of the California institution Olivet University, based in Anza, California. As the only Olivet University location in Dover, New York — the headquarters of our denomination, the World Olivet Assembly — we have an opportunity and responsibility to develop leaders for vocational ministry service that is unique to our Dover location.

Mission

Olivet University is a California-based institution of Biblical higher education committed to training ministry-bound men and women as Biblical scholars and leaders and as practitioners with the skills to preach the Gospel effectively into and after the ‘network generation’ – thus priming them to revolutionize the world through Christian mission.

The mission of Olivet University New York is to educate ministry leaders for lifelong professional ministry in close proximity and partnership with the World Olivet Assembly. We do this through our commitment to the revolutionary power of Biblical higher education, starting courses in Bible and theology and business for ministry and marketplace impact.

Vision

Olivet University New York’s vision is to be the preeminent Christian leader development institution of Biblical higher education of the World Olivet Assembly as a degree-granting institution chartered by the State of New York.

History

Olivet University came to New York from California following our mission to revolutionize the world through education. In New York the school saw a vision for the future of Olivet University, especially expanding our global reach and impact, which started in Lower Manhattan. Olivet University’s first classes from the Master of Business Administration program opened in 2012, at 6 Barclay Street in Lower Manhattan, steps away from Wall Street and One World Trade Center.

In 2013, by the grace of God and in answer to the longtime prayers of many, especially Olivet University’s Founder and First President Dr. David Jang, God gave Olivet University a beautiful and spacious campus in Dover, also called Wingdale, New York.

After renovation began, Olivet University started carrying out our mission in Dover by opening classes from our first and flagship school, Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS).

These Bible and theology classes are laying the groundwork for planned full Bible and theology degree programs for developing leaders for ministry professional ministry and ordination with the University’s denomination, the World Olivet Assembly, also located in Dover.

Olivet University’s Dover location gives the school community a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the diverse people and ministries of the World Olivet Assembly and beyond for global mission impact.
