More Doctoral Candidates Ready to Graduate with the New Monthly Oral Defense Schedule

October 24, 2017

In order to facilitate more than 40 Doctor of Ministry candidates to complete their study in 2017, Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies has been holding oral defense sessions every month since August.

Under the new schedule, D. Min. candidates are eligible to attend their oral defense as soon as the following month when they have completed their final paper and project book. However, the standard review process will still be strictly maintained, meaning the Doctoral Committee will examine the final paper submitted by the candidate before he or she can attend the defense.

Those who passed the oral defense will have their final paper bound and be able to graduate next year in June.

"Our D. Min. program now has 65 graduates, many of whom are leaders in the Olivet community around the world. My prayer is that we will have a record graduating class by June 2018," ZSDS D. Min. Program Director Dr. Tom Cowley said.

He added that candidates and their mentors should make a good plan on completing the program in their best timeline.

The D. Min. program at Olivet is designed to advance the candidates engaged in Christian ministries to the highest level in his or her field. Upon completing the program, a candidate will be to design, implement, evaluate, and record an original ministry-related project at the highest doctoral standards.
