Olivet University Riverside Campus held its 2026 Fall Quarter Convocation, bringing together returning students and newly admitted students as they began the new academic term.

The Convocation provided an opportunity for students to prepare for a new journey of academic and spiritual growth while reflecting on the mission of the university and the meaning of community.

The program was led by Chaplain Rev. Michael J. Ford, who introduced the mission of Olivet University, emphasizing the university’s commitment to training ministers and leaders who are equipped with biblical knowledge and practical skills to share the Gospel with the next generation and beyond. The program also included a time to welcome faculty members and administrative staff.

Theology professor Dr. Alma Osario delivered the invocation prayer followed by a musical performance led by Dr. Hosea Yang. The Convocation address was delivered by the University’s Chairman of the Board, Dr. Nate Tran, who emphasized the meaning of success and bold humility in university life. He noted that humility does not mean thinking less of one’s own value, but rather thinking less about oneself. Students were encouraged to pursue their goals and achievements while also considering others and viewing their lives within a greater purpose.

The Convocation concluded with a benediction from OTCS Director Dr. Christy Tran, which provided a meaningful opportunity for new and returning students to begin the Fall Quarter together and to reflect once again on Olivet University’s mission, their academic goals, and their spiritual journey. The Riverside Campus looks forward to seeing students grow academically, spiritually, and personally as they continue to discover and pursue their calling.
