Olivet University Riverside students proudly participated in the 4th Annual Cancer Walk in Anza, joining local residents, friends, and community organizations for a day dedicated to cancer awareness, fellowship, and support for those battling cancer.
The event brought together participants of all ages who walked through Anza’s beautiful landscapes in support of a meaningful cause. Walkers could choose between a one-mile route from HCN Bank to the Hamilton Museum or a longer, three-mile trek along the overland route.
Coordinated by Pebbles Lewis and the Anza Community Hall, the annual event also featured local vendors who gathered to support the community and contribute to the day’s activities.
T-shirts were available to participants, with opportunities for community members who did not participate in the walk to purchase one as well. Businesses and supporters were also invited to advertise on the backs of 100 event T-shirts. All proceeds from the walk and T-shirt sales were designated for Michelle’s Place, a local organization that supports individuals and families affected by cancer. More information about its work can be found at www.michellesplace.org.
Olivet University was proud to be one of the sponsors for the event and take part in an initiative that promotes awareness, compassion, and community solidarity. Students enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local neighbors and friends while supporting a cause that touches the lives of many.
Through their participation, Olivet University students demonstrated the importance of community engagement and standing alongside those affected by cancer. The annual walk continues to serve as a reminder that collective efforts, whether through walking, volunteering, or contributing to fundraising initiatives, can make a meaningful difference.
