Doctor of Ministry Program Holds Online Follow-up Meetings with First-Year Students

February 03, 2021

First-year Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) students joined online follow-up meetings with their professors in January. Professors and students were able to engage in deeper conversation on course materials.

Dr. Donald Tinder met students over a Zoom meeting for his "Theological Foundations for Ministry" course. Students were encouraged to explore both global and topical areas in the discipline of theology that were previously underdeveloped. Tinder also provided students with a global, not just a western, approach to theological reflection and its historical development.

In addition, the "Doctoral Research & Presentation" course held an online meeting with Dr. Creighton Marlowe. Students were introduced to the methods and materials necessary for adequate and appropriate doctoral research in various areas, whether it is biblical, theological, historical, missiological, or pastoral/practical.

The online meetings were highly interactive and dynamic. Since the professor had designed them based on interactive elements, the students were highly engaged in the meetings. The students were encouraged to keep their momentum through the faculty-student interaction as they start the new year.
