Dover New York Students Take Part in Christmas Event

December 20, 2019

Students from Olivet University Dover Campus participated in the Christmas event organized by the Town of Dover at Thomas J Boyce Park in Wingdale, NY.

The event was organized by the Recreation Department of the Town of Dover. The event began at 5:00 pm with parade and Christmas tree lighting followed by Christmas singers' performance, picture-taking with Santa and refreshments. The event ended meaningfully by stuffing the sleigh with non-perishable items for the people in need.

Over 30 Olivet University students sang "O Holy Night" during the event celebrating and proclaiming the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. The audience enjoyed the live performance as the holiday music ushered in the feeling of Christmas.

"The students' performance was amazing. I felt the Town of Dover was very touched by the praise tonight," said one audience attendee.

This past year, Olivet University students were active in community service events. They participated in the Town Clean-up Day and the local blood donation drive to contribute to the public benefits of the neighborhood.
