MBA Students Discuss Entrepreneurship: Focus on Opportunities Amid Crisis

May 21, 2020

Olivet Business School's MBA students continue to engage in online distance learning and explore the world of entrepreneurship, during this unprecedented academic session.

Students from the Riverside, San Francisco, and New York Manhattan campus joined the Entrepreneurship course led by Professor Sebastian Keita. Entrepreneurship is described as the process of designing, launching, and running a new business. This course focuses more on ideas and visions rather than theory. The class examines and analyzes many successful and failed cases of entrepreneurship to learn about the importance of calculated risk-taking. Students participate actively and challenge each other's ideas in the guided discussion.

"I study the entrepreneurial experience and background of many famous entrepreneurs. There are many people who want to start a business, but not everyone can succeed. Even with visions and dreams, one may not be successful," one MBA student shared.

The course examines keys to persevere and constantly look for opportunities. As opportunities arise, entrepreneurs must be able to realize the potential for development and calculate risks before investing. The online course will continue to promote engagement on the lessons learned through group discussions and one-on-one consultation with the professor.
