OTCS San Francisco Opens "Systematic Theology II" course for Winter Quarter

January 06, 2021

For the upcoming Winter Quarter, OTCS San Francisco provides the "Systematic Theology II" course for OU online and OU San Francisco students. For the course, professor Dr. Joseph Lee gives lectures principally pertaining to Christology and Soteriology.

Christology is the study of the 'person' and 'work' of Jesus Christ. Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say I am?" (Matthew 16:15). As such, the doctrine of Christ lies at the heart of the Christian faith.

Soteriology is the study of the doctrine of salvation. It covers the characteristics of how the atonement of Christ is appropriated to humans. The course examines manifold facets of salvation including Justification, Sanctification, and the like.

"I pray that God leads our theological journey to construct 'Christ' and 'Salvation' profoundly. As with my other Systematic Theology courses, our primary source should be the witness of Scripture. On the foundation of the biblical truth, we will explore further the seminal topics of theology from theological and philosophical viewpoints," Dr. Joseph Lee commented.

The course will continue through the coming next 10 weeks to engage the students in critical reflection upon the understandings of the above doctrines based on the scripture, and enable the students to refute the false doctrines, equipping them to be the Biblical scholar and effective minister.
